This #WellnessWednesday is all about carving time out in your day to relax and unwind. Feeling stressed or anxious? Busy with traveling or work? We have a few steps to guide you through relieving your mind and body.

Steps to Relax Your Mind & Unwind

Step 1: Breathing

We tend to overlook how important our breath is but having the right breathing techniques can help you to relax tremendously. Belly breathing is an easy technique to know. All you have to do it sit or lie down comfortably, put one hand on your belly and the other on your chest and take a long deep inhale — filling your belly with air as much as you can. Then release the air slowly through your mouth with your lips pursed as if you’re exhaling through a straw. Repeat this as many times until you feel relaxed. Slow, intentional breathing can help reduce stress, and help ease your mind and body.

Step 2: Baths

When you’re feeling stressed, sore, or tired, it’s important to take time out of the day for yourself. Our favorite way to do that is with a nice lavender infused bath. Just fill your tub with hot water, add a cup of Epsom salts and a small handful of dried lavender. Steep for 5 minutes before getting in to maximize relaxation benefits from the lavender and Epsom salts. Light some candles, grab your favorite book, and start your journey to relaxation.

Step 3: Face masks

We go crazy over here for face masks. Whether it’s a sheet mask from Innisfree, or a clay mask from Origins, there’s no wrong way to mask. The important factor here is that you’re carving out time for yourself. So, change into comfy clothing, apply your mask, and sit comfortably while listening to a guided meditation from your favorite meditation app. We love Mindfulness, Insight Timer, and Calm
